Nurturing curiosity and innovation in young learners through hands-on STEM programs.
South Bay STEM Association, a non-profit founded by Kyra Tang, Charles Lu, Ariel Chen, Owen Yeh, and Allen Xie, is committed to providing free STEM education programs to elementary and middle school students. South Bay STEM Association started in the summer of 2024 where we held our first ever program competing in the Zero Robotics Program. Currently we 3 different programs each directed to boost STEM education in different ways. Zero Robotics focuses on introducing programming to students. ExploraVision, a more advanced program, focuses on guided students to perform scientific research. Finally, our last program focuses on teaching fundamental STEM education through the use of fun, hands-on workshops.
Zero Robotics is a free, online, summer program that guides kids and teaches them the skills necessary to problem solve and code robotics to solve a year-specific mission. Hosted by MIT, the teams in the finals will have their code run by astronauts aboard the ISS.
